Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted - Beatitudes

With the grace of the Holy Spirit, the St. Elizabeth Bereavement Ministry will reach out to those who mourn with love and compassion, to provide comfort, support and hope through their difficult journey of grief.

Members of this team offer assistance, support, and compassionate care to members of our parish who are grieving the loss of a loved one. Members are trained to provide guidance through the process of funeral arrangements and planning the funeral liturgy if requested by the family. They are also available to serve as greeters, altar servers, and lectors at the funeral Mass. Sponsored activities include preparing the “Book of Remembrance”, coordinating the All Souls Day Mass, the Mother and Father’s Day memorial Masses and receptions, a 6 week grief support session and a speaker event.

Membership is open to parishioners of St. Elizabeth who are called to serve those who are grieving. There is an annual ministry team meeting.
