EFF Volunteer Safe Environment Requirements

PA state law and Archdiocesan policy requires all church personnel and volunteers obtain background checks priorto beginning work/service and training. Please submit completed forms to the Parish office.

Part 1 - PA Law Background Check & Clearance Requirements:

All three clearances must be renewed every 5 years and submitted to the Parish Services Office.

              1.  Federal Fingerprint Background Check - if you have not been a PA resident for the last 10 consecutive years. Visit https://www.identogo.com/ to find a fingerprinting location and make an appointment. If you have been a PA resident for the last 10 years, you do not need a fingerprint background check, but you must fill out and sign a Volunteer Application Disclosure form.

              2.  Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Background Check 

              3.  Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance 

Part 2 - Archdiocese of Philadelphia Training Requirements:

All volunteers who have regular contact with children must complete the following training and return certificates of attendance/completion to the Parish Services Office:

            1.     Safe Environment Part I: Protecting God’s Children class (in person). Safe Environment classes are offered at Saint Elizabeth in September and February. Protecting God's Children Affadavit must be returned to the Parish Services Office along with all other requirements.             2.    Safe Environment Part II: Mandatory Reporter of Suspected Child Abuse - Must be completed online through the OCYP website: http://www.childyouthprotection.org/ under "Training Institute".

Those who do not comply will be moved to “inactive status” and not be permitted to work or volunteer until all requirements have been met.
