Parish Prayer Ministry/Monday Adoration

Parish Prayer Ministry/Monday Adoration

What Is Eucharistic Adoration?

Eucharistic adoration is adoring or honoring the Eucharistic Presence of Christ. In a deeper sense, it involves “the contemplation of the Mystery of Christ truly preens before us.” During Eucharistic Adoration, we “watch and wait,” we remain “silent” in His Presence and open ourselves to His Graces which flow from th Eucharist. By worshipping the Eucharistic Jesus, we become what God wants us to be! Like a magnet, the Lord draws us to Himself and gently transforms us.

In its fullest essence, Eucharistic Adoration is “God and man reaching out for each other, at the same time!”

The Eucharist is Jesus truly present- Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity!

How does one spend an hour before Jesus exposed in the Blessed Sacrament?

This hour Jesus wants you to spend with Him is spent any way you want. You may bring your own prayer books, use the books in the library, read the Bible, pray the Rosary, or just sit, relax and enjoy the sweet peace that comes from simply being in the Presence of God.

You may feel you can’t pray well. Don’t let this discourage you. The mere fact that you take time out at a specific time each week to spend an hour with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament pleases Him very much, and is in itself a prayer of great faith.

Our goal is at least 2 Scheduled Adorers and 2 Substitute Adorers per hour.

Parishioners are invited to make a personal commitment to a specific period of prayer before the Blessed Sacrament on behalf of the parish community and to do so on a regular basis (weekly, with responsibility to contact another member of the Parish Prayer Ministry to substitute for them in their absence. In this way, we can be better assured of compliance with the liturgical norms of the Church, which call for the prayerful attendance of at least two people during Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. EVERYONE is invited to stop in the chapel at any time.

Spring/Summer Schedule, Memorial Day – Labor Day: 8 am – 4:30 pm

Fall/Winter Schedule, Labor Day – Memorial Day: 8 am – 8:30 pm

Scheduled Adorers:

Commit to a 30 – 60 minute obligation every Monday.

Consider a Prayer Share - alternate each week with family members, a fellow parishioner or friend.

Please check your name off on the printed list outside the chapel when you come to pray.

Substitute Adorers:

If you are not able to commit to a weekly obligation, you may want to consider becoming a Substitute Adorer. Provide times of potential availability and Scheduled Adorers will contact you for coverage in their absence if you are available.

Please cross out the committed adorer’s name, if applicable, and enter your name.

Spiritual Bouquet:

Cards are now available. They are placed on the table just outside the chapel. A free will offering may be placed in the Poor Box in the chapel.
