Saint Elizabeth Athletic Ministry (SEAM)

Saint Elizabeth Athletic Ministry (SEAM)

Our Mission:

Saint Elizabeth Athletic Ministry (SEAM), is the partnering of parish staff, parents, coaches, and youth to manage and support an athletic program that offers healthy activities which strengthen the physical, emotional and spiritual well-being of youth; that emphasizes healthy competition, sportsmanship and responsibility to the community; while giving witness to our catholic faith.

What We Do:

The SEAM board meets on a monthly basis and runs the logistics, finances, and organization of the Saint Elizabeth CYO program. The board also oversees all coaches and teams in the Saint Elizabeth program.

By charter, the foundational purpose of SEAM and its board is to provide a Catholic Ministry through athletics. The SEAM Board develops, implements and manages athletic programs for the families of Saint Elizabeth Parish and offer recommendations to the Administrator of Parish Youth Ministry Programs and to the pastor regarding athletic programs and the use & upkeep of parish athletic facilities.

  • SEAM participates in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia CYO (Catholic Youth Organization).
  • Emphasis on teamwork, sportsmanship, positive attitude, love of the game, respect, commitment, and responsibility.
  • CYO programs serve the needs of all youth. They enable the gifted to excel, the less gifted to participate and improve.
  • All participants should have the respect of others on their own team and the opposing team. Participants should have a spirit of loyalty to CYO ideals, to parish, to coach, and to the team. They should learn patience with and tolerance of those of less ability. Their speech and actions should reflect Christian values.
  • Prayer – All activities will begin and end with prayer.
  • Christian Service – SEAM teams are Christian communities – all treat teammates and other teams with respect and dignity. As part of our call to serve, each team will plan and participate in a service project for the parish or local community.
  • Stewardship – SEAM would not exist without the stewardship of parents and other parishioners. As part of the registration process, there are required fields indication ways in which parent assistance is necessary to run a program. As always, we need coaches, service project coordinators, and other positions so please consider volunteering in one of these roles.
