The purpose of the OCIA is to share the faith and the traditions of the Catholic Church with Non-Christians who have expressed a desire to become Catholic, or for baptized Christians who wish to be accepted into full communion with the Catholic Church.
What We Do:
The process is for non-Catholics to inquire and explore the possibility of joining the Catholic faith. The process begins with a period of “Inquiry” giving the individual the opportunity to question and discern if God is calling them to the Catholic faith. This step can then lead to a period called the “Catechumenate” where formal catechesis on sacred scripture, our theology and our spirituality is explored and assimilated. Meetings for Inquiry, the Catechumenate and baptized Christians meet weekly throughout most of the year.
