Saint Elizabeth Church welcomes all parish children who are attending non-Catholic schools to participate in our vibrant Elementary Faith Formation Program (EFF). Seventy-five-minute classes are taught each week by dedicated volunteer catechists who provide instruction to students of all abilities. Eight levels of catechetical formation are offered beginning with kindergarten (kindergarten is optional).
The primary goals of the EFF Program are:
A student’s faith formation in the classroom comes to life in the family faith practice. For this reason, we encourage parents to reflect upon how their own family lives out our Catholic Faith in daily life (at home, at work and at school, and in society as a whole) and to renew their commitment to participate actively in the sacramental-liturgical life and in the pastoral ministries of the parish throughout the year.
A student’s formation is completed through seven levels of catechetical formation. Kindergarten participation is encouraged but not required. Each year the student strengthens their relationship with God through:
These seven formative years lead them from preparation for First Penance and First Communion in levels One and Two (not including kindergarten) to their reception of Confirmation and recognition by the church as spiritual adults in Level Seven; ready to commit themselves to growing in their faith and living out their God-given vocation.
