These parishioners assist the priest and deacon in the distribution of Holy Communion at Mass. They participate in special training to begin their service. Each person is nominated by the pastor and then appointed by the Archbishop of Philadelphia for a three-year term. These ministers are usually scheduled to serve at one Mass every two to four weeks.
