The final Protecting God’s Children class for this school year will be offered at Saint Elizabeth on Thursday, April 23, 7:00-9:30 PM. This class is a requirement for any person, paid or unpaid, who works with children in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. The 60 day grace period for anyone who began volunteering with children at the beginning of this school year has now expired. To come into full compliance with our Safe Environment Program, please register for class now! A PA State Police check and a PA Child Abuse clearance are also required as part of our Safe Environment Program.

Under new Pennsylvania law (effective 12/31/2014), any person, paid or unpaid, who works, volunteers, and/or comes into direct contact with children in a program, activity or service is a Mandated Reporter and must immediately report suspicions of child abuse or neglect. If you suspect a child is being abused or neglected, these three steps must be followed: 1) Call Child Line at 800-932-0313; 2) Within 48 hours of your report, submit a written CY-47 report with the county Children & Youth services where the alleged abuse took place; 3) Notify the head of your institution immediately.
