Welcome!

Saint Elizabeth Church welcomes all parish children who are attending non-Catholic schools to participate in our vibrant Elementary Faith Formation Program (EFF). Seventy-five-minute classes are taught each week by dedicated volunteer catechists who provide instruction to students of all abilities.  Eight levels of catechetical formation are offered beginning with kindergarten (kindergarten is optional).

Our Mission

The primary goals of the EFF Program are:

  • to continually remind children how much Jesus loves them,
  • to help them build a lifelong friendship with Jesus Christ,
  • to deepen their understanding of our Catholic Faith and
  • to foster their commitment to stewardship service for others.

Family Faith Impact

A student’s faith formation in the classroom comes to life in the family faith practice.  For this reason, we encourage parents to reflect upon how their own family lives out our Catholic Faith in daily life (at home, at work and at school, and in society as a whole) and to renew their commitment to participate actively in the sacramental-liturgical life and in the pastoral ministries of the parish throughout the year.

Formation Progression

A student’s formation is completed through seven levels of catechetical formation. Kindergarten participation is encouraged but not required. Each year the student strengthens their relationship with God through:

  • a deeper prayer life,
  • greater appreciation for the Sacraments,
  • growing knowledge of the Bible’s revelation of God’s love and promises for salvation and eternal life
  • more mature application of the moral life of a disciple of Jesus,
  • experience of belonging to the community and ministry of the church,
  • increased faith from the examples of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Saints

Sacrament Preparation

These seven formative years lead them from preparation for First Penance and First Communion in levels One and Two (not including kindergarten) to their reception of Confirmation and recognition by the church as spiritual adults in Level Seven; ready to commit themselves to growing in their faith and living out their God-given vocation.

Teen RCIA

St. Elizabeth also offers a Rite of Christian Initiation program for high school age teenagers.  This program is for both Baptized and non-Baptized young adults who have not received the required catechesis for the reception of any, or all, of the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, First Communion, and Confirmation).  The goal of this program is full initiation into the Catholic Church through the reception of the Sacraments.  To enroll your student in this program, or to get more information please contact the St. Elizabeth Religious Education Office.
