As those who have been a part of our parish for many years know well, this is not our first capital campaign!
Parishioners may rightly ask the questions: How is this anniversary campaign different from previous campaigns and how will it help the parish community?
Each of our previous campaigns served a specific need in funding the construction of parish facilities: the church and education center in 2005; the ministry center and gymnasium in 2010; and the priest residence in 2016.
The Moving Forward in Faith-Extending God’s Light campaign is unique in that there will be no new physical buildings upon its completion. Instead, this campaign is intended to strengthen the long-term foundation of the parish community by addressing existing financial challenges in a pro-active manner in order to ensure that the parish begins our next 25 years fully prepared to sustain, enrich and expand the vibrant spiritual, pastoral and educational ministries of Saint Elizabeth Church.
The funds raised through this campaign will be allocated to three specific areas of priority need: parish debt reduction/elimination; a restricted education fund to support the parish school and faith formation programs; and ongoing technology development and long-term maintenance projects.
The anniversary campaign also aims to strengthen our parishioners' sense of belonging, community and stewardship by coming together in a common cause as we move forward in faith with a renewed commitment to extend God's light to others.
The campaign committee is delighted to announce that as of January 27, 2021 some 68 donors have pledged a total of $2,004,573.50. Thank you to all our campaign team and initial donors for their great generosity!
