PA EITC/OSTC Tax Credit Program

This tax credit program benefits both Catholic schools and the individual and corporate donors by redirecting donor tax dollars to a designated school. Individual parishioners can participate in EITC through our Tuition Care Special Purpose Entity (SPE), while businesses can join the EITC/OSTC program and designate Saint Elizabeth Parish School as the recipient of their tax credits. More information about Tuition Care will be communicated shortly.

Next weekend, April 28-29, we will have a short informational presentation at the end of Mass to encourage participation in the EITC/OSTC Tax Credit Program. There will also be an EITC Cocktail Reception sponsored by The Foundation for Catholic Education on Thursday, May 10, 5:30-7:30 PM at Maggiano’s Restaurant in King of Prussia. For more info, call Judi Neeld at 610-793-8503.

FORMED - an Online Platform for Faith Formation

This online portal offers hundreds of opportunities to grow in the faith for adults, children and the whole family together. FORMED is now available to all Saint Elizabeth parishioners at no cost!

Have you ever wondered why intelligent, successful people would give up their careers, alienate some of their friends, and face disapproval from their families ... just to become Catholic? Find out by watching Convinced on Formed.org. To sign up for your free parish membership, go to STE.Formed.org and "register now." Enter your name, email address, create a password and you're in! Go to "Community" page to see Convinced and other recommended titles.

In Chester County, there were 141 deaths from overdose in 2017 compared to 106 in 2016.
In Chester County in the last three years, 547 people have died of drug overdoses. 69% of those deaths were men.
Of those men, 47% were in the 25-44 age range.
Prescriptions for opioids increased nationally from 76 million in 1991 to 207 million prescriptions in 2013.
According to the CDC, alcohol is linked to 88,000 deaths each year which is more than the 64,000 drug overdose deaths in 2016

These statistics leave many of us feeling frightened, angry, sad, and powerless.
It will take the entire community, strengthened and enlightened by our faith, to tackle what often seems an overwhelming challenge.
On May 1, we will come together as a community to share information and connect with one another.

United in prayer, we will listen andhear what active steps we are called to take to respond to the opioid crisis and other addictions in our community.

News from Saint Elizabeth Sister Parish Planning Team

In 2004 Saint Elizabeth & Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary first initiated a sister parish relationship to share experiences and activities.  Over the years we have developed a warm friendship and enjoy activities together such as our October Food Sharing Luncheon, choir exchanges, and our support for the Visitation BVM School with Easter parties, “read alouds”, Advent Giving Tree and the July food collection.

ALL ARE INVITED!
Sunday, May 6
Saint Elizabeth Guitar Group travels to Visitation BVM Parish
2646 Kensington Ave, Philadelphia
and joins the Visitation Celestial Voices Choir at the 10:00 AM Mass.
The music will be both uplifting and spiritual!
An added bonus will be the Vietnamese community’s
Crawfish Festival!!

Carpooling is encouraged.
We will meet in the Saint Elizabeth parking lot at 8:45 AM, leaving for Visitation at 9:00 AM.

On Tuesday, May 8, join us as we share a favorite children’s book with the Pre-K – 3rd grade classrooms at Visitation BVM School.
