Bulletin - July 22, 2018

A Word from Father Mullin

When the disciples returned to Jesus after their first “mini-mission” of preaching and healing, Jesus invites them to “come away by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while.”

What a perfect Gospel passage for me to reflect upon as I sit at the beach! Although it’s not quite a “deserted place,” the shore is a great place to rest a while.

May you and your family find a few days to rest a while before the summer passes ever so quickly and the busy-ness of the fall is upon us all!

Fr. Tom Mullin

Congratulations, Father Chambers

Our longtime weekend pastoral assistant, Father Francis Chambers, OSA, is celebrating the gift of the priesthood at the 11:30 AM Mass next Sunday, as he marks the fortieth anniversary of his priestly ordination. All are welcome to celebrate with him at Mass and then join a simple reception in the social hall immediately after Mass. May God continue to bless Fr. Chambers and his pastoral ministry, both at Villanova University and here at Saint Elizabeth Church!

Liturgical Ministry- A Call to Serve

Have you thought about it? Have you prayed about it? Are you ready to commit to becoming a liturgical minister? We have a place for everyone! Will you respond to this call? We need more stewardship volunteers for every liturgical ministry. We can accommodate your family schedules, too!

An added bonus is a special presentation by Fr. Stephen Thorne on Saturday morning, September 8, directed to both veteran and new liturgical ministers. Fr. Thorne will address the importance of what all the liturgical ministers do at Mass.

So please pick up a liturgical ministry availability form in the narthex, fill it out and turn it in to the parish office. For more information contact Gen Miceli (610-646-6550 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.). See your own faith come alive with great rewards!

Don't just go to church, be the church!

Sister Parish Food Collection: Thank you for your generous donations of 466 Manna bags to last weekend’s food collection for our sister parish, Visitation BVM.

Poor Box: We hear so much about the plight of refugees and immigrants, especially the children, in the news and it is hard to know how to help. The money donated will help support their efforts. The poor boxes are located in the narthex and in the daily Mass chapel.

Sharing Our Bounty: The response to the needs of those less fortunate is always overwhelming at Saint Elizabeth. The next opportunity to give is our school supply collection. The commercials are on TV and the school supplies are in the stores. The sales are on! Are you shopping for your children? grandchildren? yourself? The Sharing Our Bounty Committee will be sponsoring a collection of school supplies on the weekend of August 11-12 for needy students in our area. Please consider picking up some extra supplies to help students who struggle to have the supplies they need. Thank you in advance for generously sharing your treasure.
