Pastoral Outreach News

Poor Box Program - Burkina Faso: Thanks to the generosity of so many people to the poor boxes in September and October, we now have a total of $8,000 to fund the food packaging project for the people of Burkina Faso, West Africa. Additional donations can be made through this Wednesday.

Food Packaging Project: The food items purchased with the poor box donations will be packaged on a stewardship service day on Saturday, December 1, for which we have room for 90 people to package the meals. We also need a small group of "strong" people to set up and unload the truck when it arrives at 8:00 AM. If you are able to help unload the truck, please contact Gen Miceli (610-646-6550). To sign up for the food packing team, on a first come, first served basis, go to the parish website (stelizabethparish.org).

Halloween Candy Collection: Attention all Trick or Treaters - We are collecting candy next weekend, November 3-4. Candy may be dropped off at the Holy Family Room in the church narthex before each Mass. As in past years, the donated candy will be shared with the clients of Saint John's Hospice and distributed through several youth ministry projects. Parents & other adults - we also welcome those left over bags of candy that you will be tempted to eat! Thank you to all for your generosity!

Good Works Program: Like to cook and want to serve others? Good Works Lunch Crew is looking for additional lunch teams (volunteer 1 or 2 times per year) to prepare and serve lunch to its appreciative work crew of about 20 people. The work crew meets on the 3rd Saturday of each month to repair homes making them safer, drier, and warmer for homeowners in need. Share your talent, join the Good Works lunch team and receive the gift of breaking bread with fellow parishioners and neighbors. For more information contact Darla Dadey (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.).

Thanksgiving Dinners: Can you provide a Thanksgiving meal for a family in need? Here’s how to help: purchase a frozen turkey, aluminum roasting pan, potatoes, two boxes of stuffing mix, four cans of vegetables, gravy, cranberry sauce, rolls/bread and a non-refrigerated/non-frozen dessert. There is no cooking required on your part! If an entire meal is too much for one family, consider asking another family/friends to share in the gathering of the meal! Note: please place the frozen turkey in a brown paper bag inside a plastic bag.

In order to ensure each meal gets placed with a family, please contact Linda Hammill (484-354-1433 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) to notify her that you are prepairng a meal and to clarify any questions you may have. Drop off at the kitchen bay door on Sunday, November 18, 7:30-11:30 AM. Meals will be distributed to our sister parish, Visitation BVM, and several other inner city parishes. Thank you for your continued generosity!
